Free expression actually does carry a little bit of responsibility as well,“fire in the movie theater” is just more direct version of inciting to riot, and knowing who you’re enflaming, caution should at times be observed, or you might inflame some guy in a movie theater in Aurora, Colorado, or a grade school in Newtown.
Cowards, not just zealots, attack the innocent, or the vulnerable. It is courageous to pointedly attack evil people with your pen who are seeking to do harm. However, it is also wise to wield that pen with authority and precision, not merely use a paint roller, or spray gun, which only mask bigotry.
It’s been noted that the cartoonists attacked ALL sides they felt were full of themselves, and hypocrisy, that is also a difference from those using this as yet another opportunity to attack only one group/class of persons.
