    ^This also reflects my experience with our locals that first went with the “TEA party”. They had some rational complaints that called for fairly rational solutions. Today, only the lunatic fringe, acting against THEIR OWN best interests, seem to still be influenced by the con.

    Uh, s49, these folks were festooning themselves with teabags like petals on Rose Parade floats until they found out about that little item, and Bennett wasn’t even beginning to go there.

    OldCoal: It’s clear to me that the oligarchy was worried that the Tea Party could become a serious threat to their power. Hence the takeover, which is worthy of study by scholars. BTW, I bookmarked that link. Thanks.

    Those are the same ones who call Tea Partiers fascists for wanting to limit the power of the government to only those powers enumerated in the Constitution.
