Funny how words mutate (or in this case, mootate),but the comic doesn’t really reflect the basic meaning of “moot”, which is more like “open to discussion”, or “as yet undetermined”. We now more often use it to mean “pointless to discuss”…we’re so lazy!

The last tube-type TV I owned had “MUTE” burned into the lower left corner of the screen. :-)

Maybe not, but it seems that serious thought is in very short supply. It is much easier to simply call people names rather than honestly engage in a meaningful exchange of ideas.
