Let’s see, China has 1.3+ billion people and the US has 350-ish million people. The extra billion people by default gives them the potential to be 4 times larger economically. Zhao Ziyang’s advice to Deng Xiaoping in the 80’s was to reduce the government’s role in the economy. Capitalism works well according to this grand experiment.

It would be nice if our politicians would focus on solving problems and developing the future. Rather than voting to repeal Obama care fifty plus times and shutting down the government, why not put together a bipartisan infrastructure program that would provide jobs and fuel the economy? Why leave 12 million immigrants in limbo? Fix the tax code so our patriotic companies don’t leave all of their profits off shore to fuel competitive economies? I guess it is more fun to electioneer and wage political war. Unfortunately the voters apparently either like the present situation or don’t care, they keep sending “their guy” back to Washington.

Decisions made in corporate board rooms, and in a myopic congress have also greatly contributed to our current situation.

Reading comprehension much? Zhao recommended reducing the government’s involvement in the economy not increasing it. The moral of the story is to reduce government interference as much as possible. I’ve probably been to China more than you plus read 1000s of pages of Chinese history. In no way did I say we should emulate the Chinese model. My comment was strictly an observation based on simple math and the advice of the man who charted China’s current economic model. Calm down.
