Yes, your re missing the fact that the riots and theft have nothing to do with the death of one more thief. It is all about an excuse to riot and steal.
The media outlets picked a single case, blew it out of proportion when compared to how many killings we get, daily, and got the result they wanted to produce profits for themselves!

A 12 year old is shot and killed because, like most kids, he took the orange button off the end of his “air soft” gun to make it look totally real, and pointed it at a cop as he was approached. There is NO SUCH THING as a “toy” gun or an unloaded weapon, basic rule of firearms safety.
So, why do manufacturers sell such dumb stuff, that gets people killed, like real looking toys, or real guns, to folks that have no business with them…

The woman in the picture is not a symbol. That’s a drawing of a real store owner who got burnt out by the rioters. And let’s not forget Demo Governor Nixon and other authorities, who sent law enforcement to guard the largely white areas of Ferguson, while thugs victimized their own people. Disgusting!
