dad: your eyes do not deceive you!! this is what our tvs looked like before flat-screens! they had to be big to house the tiny actors who lived inside and performed our favorite shows!! see these slots? we slid slices of american cheese through those to keep them fed!! if we forgot, they'd let us know by performing the same 'brady bunch' episode over and over! and every april fool's eve, they'd sneak out of the tv and rearrange our furniture! hdtv put them out of work, so they all moved to the bahamas, where they performed pop culture mash-ups for cruise ships! thatababy: everything cool happened before i was born.

We used to have a TV like that, and then my mom got rid of it so we would “remember to get a flat-screen.” I told my mom, “Who forgets to buy a flat-screen?”
