    When Obama took office the workforce participation rate was 66.2% last month it was 62.7% according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics:http://data.bls.gov/timeseries/LNS11300000Nick, don’t let reality get in the way of a ideological cartoon.

    Debt and deficit aren’t the same and deficits are down, reducing the INCREASE in “debt”, that “W” ran up like crazy, by among other things hiding it by not including the costs of his two needless and excessive wars, still not settled, or likely to BE settled anytime soon.

    Which, Reagan was the first to count the miltiary as “employed” to increase the participation rate, and lower the unemployed ranks.

    Retirees, disabled, and those going back to school, are examples of workforce.

    NAFTA was, & is the greatest job killer of all, with increased computerization and robotic automation close behind. For good or ill, our techno-society is undergoing changes very rapidly, and many are finding it difficult to keep up.Except Wall Street and Washington D.C. They are doing quite well.
