…the party of “no” again… it’s all about regaining power so they can give the country away again to the wealthy and corporate interests…

Funny how Nandy keeps quoting Clinton. He must admire him.

From that bunch, who has the best chance of sinking the basket? The party of No does not deserve to govern. Vote them out in 2010 and 2012.

“The Party that held up ObamaCare was not the Republicans.”

You can’t be saying the Republicans, or a portion, supported health care reform. Its pretty much obvious the R’s want this president’s policies and this president to fail. Also very much likely Obama succeeding where past presidents failed will be a powerful campaign tool in 2010 and 2012.

So far as having to bribe senators to get to 60 votes, maybe there’s something wrong with the congressional law-making system.

if there were any moderate Republicans left – Republicans like the late Mac Mathias of Maryland – this bill would have been law six month ago. The Republicans have been captured by an extreme wing of the party, and they are all marching in lockstep – perhaps even some who in their heart of hearts could have agreed to this bill – which, after all, is not so greatly different from former Republican proposals.

I am so tired of this conservative argument that just because the Democrats have control of Congress and the White House that the Republicans are not to blame at all for the failure of this bill to pass.

If even ONE SINGLE Republican was actually interested in regulating the insurance industry or serving the interests of average Americans, the Democrats wouldn’t need every single one of their Senators to support the bill in the Senate.

It’s difficult to come up with any legislation on anything that everyone within the Democratic Party can support. But that’s exactly what they’ve been forced to do when they face an opposition party that’s so bound and determined to obstruct ANY health care legislation being considered.

95% of the Democrats in Congress favor some form of health care reform while Republicans are 100% opposed to any real reform, yet somehow, you try to put the blame solely on the Democrats. That’s like a fire truck showing up at a burning building, and then half of the firemen sit around watching the others frantically trying to extinguish the flames. Then, when the efforts fail, the deadbeats claim it’s not their fault because there were enough fire fighters to do the job without them.

    It’s ludicrous!

Plain and simple- the GOP is certainly to blame for this year-long stalemate. This bill could have easily passed if the Republicans weren’t whores to the insurance industry. I’ll admit, some Democrats are no better than Republicans when it comes to promoting the interests of big business over the rights on the people on this issue. But all the Republicans are no better than, well… Republicans!
