If the Republicans win the senate they will have two years to demonstrate how they want to govern. That would likely set the stage for a Democrat sweep in 2016.
San Francisco is a one party town. It does not tolerate any opposing voices to the liberal Democratic orthodoxy. You must adhere or you will suffer there.
The GOP has had six years to demonstrate that the complete destruction of the presidency of Barack Obama is the only goal they have. There is simply nothing — nothing! — that they are offering as policy that would help America or its citizens. They cannot act on the economy, on transportation, on climate, on immigration, on equal pay, on worker safety, on international affairs, on the VA, on highways, on fire-fighting, on Medicare, on health care.
@ARodney: When Obama is out to change everything about America and turn us into a Western European Socialist Democracy, the destruction of his goals is enough. When you have a President who flat out says that he is not going to negotiate, there is not much that can be done.
@wmconelly Actually we DONT live in a democracy. We are supposed to be living in a republic. There is youtube video called “The American form of government”. It explains the difference between various forms of government. It is ten minutes long but well worth the time to watch. I’ve heard it said that a democracy is two wolfs and a sheep voting on what to have for dinner.
We don’t have a Democracy unless we vote. 32 individuals contributed more money in the last presidential election than all other donors combined. That makes it seem like it is impossible for the middle class to have any say in what happens in this country. Nothing could be further from the truth. Those 32 people only have 32 votes. The Middle Class has millions………………………………………………………………………………………..The only thing that is going to save the Middle Class is the Middle Class. We are the 99%—- that means we have the votes to elect people who will actually represent middle class workers and provide a safety net for those who are trying to get into the middle class. We all need to know WHO is supporting the candidates. That is who they will be working for. They have no choice if they want to stay in office. You have to do the bidding of whoever is paying your way, just the same as we all do in our jobs. So, before going to vote, look it up on the internet. Open Secrets is a good site, but there are plenty.
………………………………………………………………………………………… If the candidate is getting their money from small donors or from unions, they are going to be working for middle class working people. If their donations are from corporations or from 1%ers, that’s who their votes are going to be working for. They are not going to go against them and do anything to help the middle class………………………………………. It would be political suicide.
I agree with the placard. A Republican victory is a loss for most of us.As I watched Ms Pelosi being interviewed by Bill Maher Friday night, I felt embarrassed for the Democratic party. Grandstanding. During her tenure, Nancy Pelosi has made a FORTUNE on insider trading, as have just about every other member of congress! Last Spring, she was being asked about this by a reporter, and she kept answering “I don’t understand your question!” “What are you getting at?” and simply moved on.
“Shock and awe” wasn’t “civilized”, or aimed at actual offending parties attacking the United States, and it was sold on a pack of lies, hundreds of them, as every viable study since has proven. Watching the insanity in hearing coming from Republicans in the Senate committees, more dedicated to opposing Obama, even on things he’s doing that were part of THEIR “program”, proves that yes, more control in their hands could endanger “civilization” if “civil discourse” is any preliminary measure.

Two other panes are wrong, too. The Nuclear war drawing looks more like a tornado, and Ebola looks like this:

Pelosi is as much a danger to civilization as the others. Lisa Bensen has it right.
