I know it’s weird, but The Nuns told us that at birth our souls were like pure white forms in the shape of our bodies. If we committed venial sins they made dark splotches on the whiteness; but Confession would get out the spots. Mortal sins turned the whole soul pitch-black; but that could be taken care of, too (hurry, in case a car hits you and you go straight to Hell). .It all made me think of something like a Casper the Friendly Ghost inside me. The kid still in me sees ISIS fighters dressed like that and thinks they are souls damned for eternity. Maybe they are..Or maybe sometime in the future several of them will become political leaders and we’ll deal with them through U.N. negotiations. Nothing personal, only business..I wonder if we could see the inner souls of world leaders, how they would appear.
While there IS no defense of the violence of nuts like ISIS, My Lai, Dresden, Gaza, Beirut, “Shock and Awe”, “Holy Wars”, Auschwitz, Panama City, Iran/Contra, Hiroshima/Nagasaki, Gulag to Guantanamo, “evil” is indeed in the eyes of the beholder (or propagandist with the biggest podium).
I heard that ISIS has 3,000 martyrs Already in the US that are planning on infecting with ebola and to try to infect as many people as possible. And they have done that in Africa, that is why it is spreading so fast. That is the evil incarnate.. and of Satan. And everyone needs to buy protective gear. Gloves that keep out the virus, face maqsks and skin covering outfits. It is airborn for a short time period.
A statement from the 20th century is more pertinent today than when first uttered: “The only thing we have to fear, is fear itself.” Henny Penny would feel right at home in America today, especially if she “leaned right”. Ignorance is our “enemies” most powerful tool at work.
^Churchie: No, panicking about “perceived” threats is chicken, running away from REAL threats (Like ditching your NG obligation, or five deferments because you have “better things to do with your time”) is chicken. When faced with real threats I was there, and took action, in combat, and law enforcement. (btw: I was never a “forest” ranger, and made over 1,200 felony arrests, including several murderers and other “lesser” violent bad guys)
But courage isn’t so much looking for a fight, as in how you handle it, and win it, when it comes to you. (and not sending others to fight what you started for you)

U.S. FOREST Service are “forest rangers”. In the National Park Service, law enforcement officers are PARK rangers…
Smokey Bear btw is also Forest Service, created in 1944 by the advertising council/Chamber of Commerce type folks. We’re the same age…
