We used to have a bug zapper way back 32 years or more ago. Toads would come & wait underneath it for the dead moths & other night-flying insects. When they landed on the ground, the toads ate them. The cleaning crew, hahahahaha!
When I lived in Virginia I hated the sound of those poor moths and other bugs being fried. And as you said it didn’t do anything to kill the mosquitos and flies. Also they would fly over and spray for mosquitos and warn people to keep their bees inside. How do you keep a bee inside? Then the birds and the bats would eat the poisoned bugs. Just use insect repellant if you live in a hot, humid climate. Get over it.

Very true. Like spraying for mosquitoes kills the insects that eat them too
