Flea circuses were done with human fleas. Much larger, you can clearly see them. They’ll automatically grab small objects like miniature umbrellas, and will walk along thin strings. They are almost extinct, thanks to insecticides.
@Sottwell, no actually they used to get glued to them. Most flea circuses don’t actually have any fleas anymore. It’s all done with mechanics inside the box. I know because I have built a modern copy of one for an amateur magician . It’s all done with little motors,pulleys etc….. You can see it here: http://www.packratworkshop.com/flea.htm
