That’s the thing, right? The advice folks tend to get regarding how to act around police is basically, “Let them do whatever they want, and you can maybe hope to sort it out later.” Especially black men, since anything a young black man (or, heck, an older black man) does seems to be inherently threatening and might get him beaten or killed.
