Please, Toyota is a great brand and should be proud of itself. Besides that, thousands of them are made right here in the good ole US of A, albeit far from the cesspool that is Detroit.
….and Toyota has a history of covering up defects just as they have done this time. As the Chinese are copying anything they want now, Toyota and other Japanese manufacturers copied anything they needed to make their products.
I like my Toyota, and the other’s I’ve owned, far more reliable than any U.S. “big three” I’ve owned since 1965. Yes, most Toyotas are built in the U.S.- interesting that the Republican Governor of Mississippi stood up for the Prius, because it is built IN HIS STATE.
If you had a Toyota in the 60’s anyplace where salt was used on the roads, you didn’t have a body on the car after a year. Still in the 80’s the paint peeled off within a year. The same was true of most Japanese cars.
