How do you expect to be neighbourly without knowing your neighbours?

I guess it’s because boyfriends change, but a good sofa lasts forever.

Michael, you’re going to go a long way in understanding the opposite sex! ;)

If this is the family that owned whoever was Edgar’s mom, then yes there will be a dog. I still tear up when Farley died. I remember reading that Lynn’s sister, who is a veterinarian, had mentioned that Farley was getting up there in age. Since this is one of the few strips where people (& pets) do age Farley died heroically saving April. His heart gave out after swimming and bringing her back to shore. I remember Edgar got his name because he “grred” at everything.

In my neighborhood if the movers leave a piece of furniture out too long near the curb is gets snatched up; a lot of used furniture gets passed around that way.

Sorry guys. All of these have been new to me as well. I didn’t start reading this regularly until my late teens. Over at Doonesbury all of them are new to me since I wasn’t reading the editorials when I was 7. lol I’ll take down the original one so as not to spoil what should happen 7 years from now.

Actually, I’ll leave it up. As I said 7 years! If someone can remember for that long what I wrote WOW! Plus I don’t think this strip will be here in 7 years. A lot of papers dropped it when it went into “old/new” reruns.

    Lynn’s Notes:

When I was about 10, I watched as a family moved into one of the houses where we lived on 5th Street. My friend Evelyn’s father was watching too and when he saw the big assortment of tools the new guy had, he said “I don’t know this guy, but I like him already!” Both men were mechanics — who looked after their stuff.

My former neighbor used to crane her neck to see in my windows. She came to the screen door asking for Advil one day and when I went to get it, she opened the screen door and was standing there in my living room telling me what nice antiques I had. We moved.

We had a DLH kitten who almost got a polite name until we saw the problems she was having in the kitty litter. Suddenly she became “S#itty Kitty.”
