Ran into one of our buckaroos out on the desert with his little kid in the saddle with him. The kid was going into heat stroke, because dad thought he should “toughen the kid up”, by taking him out on the desert without water. I took the kid into my rig, cooled him down, and took him home, no doubt saving his life, but perhaps not his brain, as he too grew up to be a cowboy and wear the outfit too.
The desert can, and does kill, not just migrants, but idiot residents too. Leaving your kids in a car in summer, is stupid, and the same applies to pets. Folks who do so, should be locked in themselves for a few hours to experience the pleasure.

Tigger, have you ever read a story of a parent in a burning building who throws their child to a man several blocks below in an effort to save the child’s life before the parent dies in the flames? Imagine the desperation of throwing your child to a stranger in hopes of your child surviving even though your own life is over.Or the parent who puts their child into a crowded lifeboat while the ship is sinking, leaving that child with strangers and no knowledge of how well they’ll care for the child after the parent drowns.Yes, they send their children with smugglers, using all their resources and praying the smuggler won’t just take the money and leave their 6 to 12 year old in the desert, or perhaps sell them to sex and organ traffickers. It is utter hopelessness that has led to a level of desperation that I hope none of us here ever have to experience.Respectfully,C.
