Considering how many times “marriage” has been redefined over the centuries already, a change to make it more available to adults who love each other should not be an issue.
…Do also note that marriage is a legal status, even more than a religious one. Atheists marry, and secular authorities have been able to perform marriages for centuries. Expansion of the legal category does not threaten religion.
