When Saddam’s statue came down, the rightie Repubs on this board were more than happy to call the invasion of Iraq "BUSH’S’ war. But then as soon as things started to go south in the sandbox, ( mass looting, no WMDs, insurgencies, etc. ) these same Bush worshipers started posting a list of quotes from Bill Clinton et al. that seemed to show the Dems had been all for the war…and no matter how may times those quotes were debunked as being out of context, ( a quick look at Snopes.com was all it took. ) the righties KEPT on posting them.Sorry tea-cons, us libs have never given Obama a pass on everything…He has never been our ‘dear leader’ or ,‘the one’no,no…that was how YOU treated Bush….and your non-stop trying to pass the buck on the Iraq war proves it.
This. The banner belonged to the returning naval forces and spoke to the end of their specific mission. It was the media and the democrats who chose to make that about Bush. -Bush never declared “mission accomplished” with respect to Iraq. In contrast to President Obama and,as you rightly note, Joe Biden.
“If I remember correctly, and I do, the criticism of the Dixie Chicks was that they said it on foreign soil.” By a few, maybe, but mostly because they said it.
I own exactly ONE “country” album, a Dixie Chicks CD I bought specifically to support them when the were being brutally attacked for voicing their First Amendment rights, and recognizing “W” was Texas’ biggest failure, ever.

BTW: the character in the ’toon is a combo of Cheney/Rumsfeld.
