Not to worry. John Boehner told us in 2010 that the Republicans are providing a laser-like focus on jobs. I’m sure they’ll be showing up by the thousands any day now.

Also, this political cartoon is only partially correct, (aren’t they all) in that a college graduate’s chances of a job in his/her chosen field generally depends a great deal on the type of degree, and the field that the graduate is getting. So at an early point, they must choose wisely. But that has always been the case, even in better economic times!!
Underemployed is almost as great a problem as unemployed. There are millions who lost their jobs after 10, 20 or 25 years because the company was sold, or their division was moved to India. After a year or two on unemployment, many managed to get a job at a fast-food outlet or a big-box store, or delivering pizza. Although better off than the long-term unemployed, they are experiencing gut-wrenching hard times too.
BUT, since they are “employed” the federal government seems to think they’re OK, and there is no problem.

What should Obama have done?1. NOT bail out GM.2. NOT piss away a trillion dollars on “shovel ready” jobs.3. NOT pass ACA.4. NOT pretend to be a venture capitalist with high tech companies.5. Abandon the lost War on Drugs.6. Mandate an across-the-board 2% reduction in spending by all federal agencies. If corporate America can do it, so can Uncle Sam.These measures would have substantially reduced government expenditures and allowed an approach to a balanced budget.7. Streamline approval process for new nuclear power plants.8. Allow Keystone to proceed.9. Abolish the minimum wage.

He should have taken a major that actually leads to a job rather than Pre-historic trans-Siberian lesbian literature…

Yes, as government grows the economy shrinks or stagnates. We should get rid of Big Government.

Denis, you might want to check the number of REPUBLICAN filibusters instead of point a finger at Harry. (Not that I like him btw, which I don’t.)
