So shame on the ones that wanted to sign up and were medically denied?

Oh a completely other note, thank you to all our service people, here and gone before.

As a vet, I am really pleased by those who have thanked me for my service. Having said that, I have also met those who feel I was a fool for serving. Sigh. Thanks to all who served.

I was denied for medical reasons. I have been a member of the American Legion Auxiliary since 1999. A jr charter member of the local Marine Corp League Auxiliary. I volunteer at the American Legion at LEAST 2 evenings a month in the kitchen, helped with Toys for Tots as much as I could and other functions and I know it’s no where close to actually serving. I thank each and ever service member I EVER see in public on any given day and if I see a Military hat, I thank them for their service. I know where my freedom comes from VERY well.

“Your “freedom” is but an allusion..: As is your literacy, apparently. Or are you alluding to something not present?

Cubans recently have been graciously allowed by their government to buy and sell their own cars (mostly forty year old rust buckets) and to own property. The best medical care is off-limits to citizens and is only available to foreigners and there are critical shortages of drugs and fuel, electricity and a few other basics. Plus you need the government’s permission (and it’s expensive) to leave the Worker’s Paradise, publish a book or run a newspaper, Want to form your own political party there and run for office? Forget it, shoot yourself first, it will save time and energy and probably a few beatings .

I’ll take America’s version, thank you.
