Earl’s about as lazy as Andy Capp.

He’s not just sitting there…he’s reading about current events in the world, and the condition of the stock market. If he was sitting at a desk in an office doing the same thing, would that be more appropriate? WOMEN!

Andy is my role model, but as pointed out, Earl is actually retired. I’ll startle to show Pickles to my wife as an excuse/explanation.

Why do men get to retire and women don’t? If he’s retired she should be too but for some reason she still has the housework. Retired men should be helping out at home.

    Very well spoken, Earl!

Most retired men that I know do help out at home.

I’m beginning to think that if he were sitting at a desk in an office he would be reading comics and posting comments. I’ve noticed there aren’t as many comments on Sat and Sun as during the week. Have to admit I never thought I’d spend as much time as I do reading comics, and that was before I found the comments as interesting as the strips. Do all you people know each other?

My retired FIL only helped out around the house when my MIL had cancer. Now that she’s healthy again, he doesn’t do anything to help that I ever see or hear about. My father was retired from his job at 55, but stayed busy with farming, rental houses & remodeling projects until the day before he went into the hospital with a terminal case of pneumonia.

I’m retired every day. I’m tired when I get up in the morning, retired again around 1:30 and take a knap, and retired again when it’s time to go to bed. Yup, practice makes perfect!
