I have voted mostly Republican over the years but the abysmal behavior of the party over the last half a dozen years will sway my vote. They have done nothing but block progress and demonstrate their intolerance and bias. The Tea Party is the American Taliban. I am especially angered by their efforts to disenfranchise voters. This is a democracy and everyone should have the right to vote.
Ted Lind is right & the negative comments directed towards him confirms that. When did the Republican Party become intolerant ? So you have the likes of Herman Cain & Clarence Thomas from the fringes of the far right. There is such a thing as racist blacks who would change their skin color if possible. Clarence Thomas is after all married to a white woman not black. Why ? Because he hates his own race which is the worst kind of racism imaginable. Maybe the Republicans just don’t like the poor.

The Republican Party has become the party of the Koch brothers and their cronies in the Fortune 400 who have as much wealth as the bottom 60% of the population and probably as much political influence. Bringing minorities into the system might mean more taxes to educate and help look after them.

-Not only is the Tea Party NOT any type of “Taliban” (a Sharia Law totalitarian-type government using the sword to kill infidels and disobedient Muslims) but I have never seen a quote or heard a Tea Party candidate call for “disenfranchising” any legitimate voter!-It is ILLEGAL voters who need to be “disenfranchised” and it is usually the local Democrat party that is the lawbreaker, by forging false ballots (stuffing) and by rounding up and transporting and bribing ILLEGALs to register and to vote illegally!-P.S. Voting is a right given only to legal citizens!!!
denis there is a whole world of reality you obviously not bothered to explore. The key reason the “LWNJ news nerds” don’t talk about many of your issues is that you are blatantly misinformed which is a personal option that you chose to exercise.
But you would also complain about undocumented persons receiving government benefits paid for with taxes on American citizens. Can’t have it both ways.
