Just wanted to comment on the Martina McBride notice from yesterday. She is a real talent. Saw her on a country music show a few years ago and they were counting down on the top 20 country songs of all time. Number was judged to be Stand By Your Man, and Martina sang it, belted it would be more accurate. Unlike so many of today’s singers she has a real voice and thus does not have to mumble or moan or almost speak the lyrics. Her voice is good enough that she can really sing powerfully and with great range, like some of the best singers of earlier times, people like Eddie Fisher, Tony Martin, Tony Bennett and Al Jolson.And in addition to everything else she has an outer loveliness to match the similar qualities inside her.
