The problem with Middle East peace is that Israel was stupid enough to give a sworn enemy land within its borders. How long would any Native American tribe last in the US if they began the same terrorist actions as Palestinians do now? And what president wouldn’t send troops on to a reservation for bombings in NYC, even though the bombings might be the actions of a few? You can say it isn’t Palestinians as a whole, but I notice there aren’t a lot of them turning in the locations of terrorists living among them. Inaction makes you as guilty as action.

Of course, the problem with that analogy is that Native American tribes once were the stewards of this entire land and were slaughtered and forced onto reservations. Whenever they tried an uprising they were forcibly put down. The question then is, what was the right thing to do? Was it right for the US government (and Europeans before them) to come in and take the land in the first place? What would be the appropriate response to that invasion? Similarly, the state of Israel did not exist before World War II, and although I am content that it should exist in peace, there is no way Palestinians can be expected to accept it as somehow fair. Having said that, Hamas would do more for their people if they negotiated and committed to (and stuck with) an agreement that gave them a connected, inviolate and viable chunk of land for their own nation – one that Israel would not have the right to control or build settlements on.

Israel should exist, but how long will it exist after the West will cease its help? The US will not always be there, it just can’t.

The day the West stops helping Israel, there will be a bloodbath, I hate to say this but even though we keep that from happening right now, there will be a day when we will not be there.

Palestinians waht to live like a century ago? Zionists (not all the jews) wanted to ressurect a state that have been dead for two millenia!
