When I ask for directions, please don't use words like "east" and "southwest." If I knew where east was I wouldn't need freakin' directions!

Agree!! Especially when I’m in a strange place and it’s either at night or near noon.
Now those are directions I can understand. The only time I knew East from West was when we lived in San Diego – I always knew where the beach was.
To get there from here, you can either go mauka or makai. Then you make a turn and go Diamond Head. You’ll get there. ;-)
I think it should be, "turn left at the shoe shop and right at the big ladies’ ware store.
