Florida is sand, swamp and savanna, washed on three sides by salt water and coursed by several large rivers and many streams. It is the only state in the continental US that dips into the sub-tropics. It is wet, but not water-logged: standing water either sinks into the sandy soil or evaporates or feeds the many drainage canals, rivers and streams. I hope LDL and Torti make it here; it’s a long walk from snow country.
