I agree that the case you cited is an egregious example of the fact that we have a legal system, but not a justice system. There are legions of incredibly stupid decisions that we can bring up here.
The judicial system couldn’t have gotten any more insane when 5 male judges decided that corporations are people.
It’s good that we can agree that the judicial system needs sanity. A first step.
What would happen if someone erected a Muslim crescent on federally-owned land? Would the same people who are now saying we should “just get over” the Christian cross be equally as willing to say the same thing about the crescent?
I am not attempting to create an argument; I am asking a legitimate question, and invite those who feel this cross is a non-issue to honestly answer it.
1. Moving the cross to “non-government” land at the nearby church IS the best solution. 2. Cemeteries have log banned Wiccan symbols..3. At a “monument” on the mohave, a cross was demanded by VFW to remain, but they demanded a Buddhist stele be removed! VFW also mandates that to join you must sign an oath that you believe in “God”, as in the God of Abraham which Jews, Christians, AND Muslims, all worship. I didn’t join, because as a Buddhist, it would be hypocritical to sign said “pledge”.
Private land, do what you want. Government cemeteries DO still have crosses on Christians’ headstones, and the Star of David on Jewish ones, and I believe they finally approved Wiccan symbols after years of suits. The difference is this cross is a huge MONUMENT standing over the graves of NON-Christians, and sorry, offensive to their faiths.

Interesting article. If they run a flag up it to see if anyone salutes, they might have a prayer.
