No kidding. My daughter’s iPod stopped working while she was working in Japan. She took it to an Apple store to get it fixed, but after two weeks, they still had it and it hadn’t been repaired. She finally lost patience and demanded they give it back, but they still wanted to charge her for keeping it in their storeroom. After many complaints and a final letter sent to Apple headquarters in Cupertino, she got her money back. The exchange rate between the yen and the dollar had fallen, however, so the amount she got back wasn’t equal to what she’d been charged in Tokyo that month. Lesson: never have your electronics repaired in a foreign country unless you know the shop is trustworthy.
