I’m reminded of my wedding Mass. In his homily, the priest mentioned that this was about more than my wife getting her hands on my bank account. Without removing my gaze from the ambo, I said to her, “Go ahead, there’s nothing in it.” More than 18 years later, there’s still nothing in it.
