^True, but the cost curve may have been slowed by a more competetive insurance market place..Obama probably did this about the only way possible – first get approval for reforms on abusive coverage issues, then go for more affordability. Single-payer will come about when the electorate rebel on costs and demand a system with costs more in line with the international norm.

I predict three years from now Obamacare will be fully functional but that single-payer will be under serious consideration to bring down the cost.
