I believe it was Alan Shepherd who made the statement relative to going up on a missile system designed by the low bidder? Well, since Reagan’s time (and a little before) we’ve found way too many contracts where the “low bidder” was actually the highest! That’s especially true in defense, and medicare’s confiscation by “big pharma”. THAT is the biggest problem with forcing “corporate insurance” policies on folks. Of course that 80/20 split upsets the “industry” the most, and the reason THEY want changes!
Sure, but in private business it is either profitable or run out of business. With the government neither happens as government is neither profitable and never has to answer for their failures.
Thank you Northern Redman, exactly correct. Government is rarely held responsible for neither their failures or for their inability to manage cost controls on programs. On that basis I have an excellent reason to complain that it (government) is "…ripping of “We the People.” "
With 52 days to go before the deadline to sign up for the ACA to start Jan I, and five and a half months before the end of signing up, since the website doesn’t work perfectly, we should abandon Obamacare and adopt the Republican alternative. That is, um…like…don’t get sick and if you do get sick …die quickly.

As opposed to the slipshod and mediocre work the government itself does….
