    That nose can discover so many interesting things, that leads to more interesting discoveries, it’s easy to get distracted.

    Actually, in the first panel, it looked to me like Fred was ‘daydreaming’, not looking or caring where he went.

    From Fred’s perspective, it all just looks like grass and greenery. He can’t see the landmarks that his master can.
