Hmm, name a software program, even with extensive beta testing that was flawless when first handed over to the “public user”?

Now that her employer has cut her hours to 29 hrs a week, she can choose her taxpayer funded, government mandated insurance plan.

Of course I lost my full time job in the process, but hey, now the IRS agents can fine me for the rest.

She’ll get health insurance just about the time that program gives her stroke from frustration too if it is anything like other government ones I’ve used.

Michael, that was delightful. Thank you for my first real smile this morning. The program needs to have bipartisan repair involving experts in all fields related to healthcare. But the media doesn’t make money from peaceful resolutions, and politicians don’t get the donations they want for compromising on behalf of the majority of Americans. But I wonder what it would be like if they did.Respectfully,C.

The Affordable Care Act was a Republican idea. At the core it is virtually unchanged from the 1989 Heritage Foundation proposal. In 2009 the president wanted a Canadian style single payer system. The Republicans rolled out their 1989 proposal that had worked so well in 2006 in Massachusetts under Mitt Romney. Obama fought that, but eventually said I like that. As soon as he said he liked the Republican plan, they all stepped away from it – within days.

It is called bigotry. Essentially if the Black guy in the White House says he likes something, it has to be bad. Why do you think a Fox News poll found that 14% of Republicans approved of Obamacare and 22% approved of the Affordable Care Act.

Thanks to the recession, I’m stick in a job that’s far below my education level. []I was checking out Obamacare-compliant insurance policies a few weeks back, and the cheapest one that was available in my area would still be two weeks’ pay for me in my present situation. []This is on top of a life insurance policy that also requires me to shell out two weeks’ pay, four times a year. So that’s four months out of the year in which I basically just won’t be getting paid. []I was trying to save up so that I could relocate to an area where the local economy is healthier, but those insurance premiums are going to make it impossible now.

Florida was one of 45 states and DC that adopted Common Core in 2010.Now some kids are being taught to those standards, and some are not.The idea was to have a National standard to decide when to promote kids, to rate teachers, and rate schools. The republicans threw out the test, because they don’t want a National test.So with less than a year to go, they have to come up with a fair test that works.Glad I am not in school here.

hmm, the bill IS too long and complex, giving too much from Republicans to their buddies in the health care industry, and yes, should have been done better.

It is NOT “Obamacare”, it was passed by Congress!

All the times I’ve been critical of Obama’s actions, or inaction, as not bucking Congress to close Gitmo, or backing off on “single payer” as just two examples, hardly make an “Obamabot”.

The REAL sheep however, ARE the TEA party drones, with no positive ideas on any action/subject, backing any idiocy their “team” comes up with, despite consequences, even to THEMSELVES!!!

Threatening to shut down the government has been a REPUBLICAN tactic, every time, and very costly. This time could be worse, but they won’t change their minds, or their diapers.

Yes, to quote the actual wisdom of Forrest Gump that TEAbaggers can’t summon the intellect to comprehend: “Stupid is as stupid does.” Hopefully, after this latest idiocy, they will all go down with their Cruz ship!

There is always hope, GP.Sometimes it takes something ‘unifying’ to happen in order to force compromise, but without hope, then why even post in these forums? We are doomed, no one lives forever, not even planets. It is the quality in which we practice our existence in which we are measured in the life beyond this one. Even if you believe that death is the final act of a bad play, it is how you played your part that will decide how long those you leave behind will remember you.Don’t give up. There is always hope.Hopefully,C.

Ansonia, in theory you are right, but as we are a two party system, mostly because those two parties won’t allow a third or fourth, it is they who must effect change. Not the people by referendum. That could change if legislators continue to fail to fulfill their oaths.Respectfully,c.

Obama told someone who wanted an Organ Transplant for their 90+ year old Mother that it might be best that she be given medication to make her comfortable. He was telling this woman since her mom was over 90, she was too old for an Organ Transplant.. That is your Death Panel.I can’t find the story, but a 90 year old would be on Medicare. If true, my sympathies go out to anyone faced with losing their mother. But, transplants cost upwards of half a million dollars. Do taxpayers foot that bill? Then, there is the question of whether a younger person should wait for a transplant in favor of a person who will not live as long, even if they receive the transplant. Private insurers routinely deny transplants for people because of coverage caps, other non-life threatening health issues or otherwise not being deemed a suitable candidate.Talking about imaginary Obamacare Death Panels ignores the real ones.

“Irk the Trolls” was a great punk band in Liverpool, back in ’78. Ok, not really.

Joe: “Windows” was, and remains, just a totally screwed up version (stolen) of the MAC OS.

I’ve about given up on doing anything with any company or agency “on line”, because they keep changing their programing, and a big part of the problem is they keep designing everything to run on “Windows”!! Plus, speaking of windows, Gates and crew designed a “security system” with a window right next to the deadbolt, so THEY could easily break in, open the “door”, and steal whatever you were working on.

And a poster checked out “Obamacare compliant” plans? When most plans are not/won’t be available until tomorrow? Must be looking at a site that says “Sign up now, or your coverage will go up Oct. 1, and we won’t be able to cover you!”
