    It’s probably her Adam’s Apple and man-paws.

It doesn’t help that “Gumbo” sounds like a guy’s name either.

All dogs are ‘he’ and all cats are ‘she’. I know, it doesn’t make sense, both our cats are boys and people still say ‘she’.

I usually think of cats as she and dogs as he too for some reason. We have one male cat named Ruari, and about 3 years ago I rescued what I thought was a girl kitty I named Felicia. This cat has the most beautiful and feminine face. Imagine my surprise when “she” rolled over onto her back and I saw evidence that she was a boy! I felt really dumb but oh well. For the sake of the vet we changed his name to Felix but I still call him Felicia and think of him as a girl kitty. It’s quite funny.

My parents have always had girl dogs so it’s always she(we have a boy dog) and my in laws have a girl cat(we have a boy cat as well) so it’s a she as well. ;) I’ve had girl dog too, but I’ve never called my boy dog a girl!

Well, that’s a new one on me, too! I thought Gumbo was a boy, but that’s a cute name for a girl dog.
