Bruce: Read “Love Wins” by Rob Bell. It’s a good discussion of those “conservative evangelicals”, BY an evangelical minister!

Also important to realize that those same 630 plus laws of Moses have been used by ALL THREE bible religions as a base, to be distorted and abused by “latter day” followers, including the Inquisition (that Ratzinger was in charge of!), Judaic law, and many others, yes, including radical Muslims, who do NOT follow the actual Quran, but rather what those same latter day “nut cases” have come up with!

Just as one aside, Mohammed only declared the veil be worn by HIS OWN WIVES, NObody ELSE!

There’s also some really neat poetry out there by Sufi, and other Muslims over the centuries, that says not ALL are radicals. Remember, Hitler was raised Roman Catholic, and never denied the “faith”, thus, while many priests DID help folks escape his reign of terror, the Pope did, well, nada!

Read Bell, while I remain a Buddhist at heart, altruism being the higher calling, he can make people think under a much brighter light with regard to the “God of Abraham”, and Jesus!

^OH! which, Assad, like Saddam, Qaddafi, and Mubarak, is much more Secular than possible replacements, and CHRISTIANS are already losing, as in Iraq, Libya, and Egypt, with our “interference” just something to think about.

As I’ve oft repeated, “history” isn’t “hate”. It’s why I suggest folks look at Bell’s book. As for “today”, what IS behind our wars on Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria, Libya, Tunisia, and targeting of 60+ million people in Iran? Using surrogates, isn’t an “escape” from blame.

In the run-up to the Iraq invasion and the killing of hundreds of thousands of innocent people to find non-existent WMDs, the message was you don’t criticize your president in his job as commander in chief, and to do so is traitorous. Why have the rules changed? Except now the commander in chief is seeking to enforce International law for the actual use of WMDs, and he gets non-stop derision and under-mining. Furthermore, progress is being made without any loss of life. I don’t get it.
