If two roads are close together, it may be confused as to which road you are actually on (it’s particularly fun when the GPS thinks you’re on the wrong side of the freeway and keeps telling you to “turn around when possible”). But GPS particularly struggles with the third dimension – if you have one road over another, GPS has no idea which road you’re on.
I do use GPS now and then, but try to minimize its use. Aside from the occasional GPS error and frequent bad route advice, GPS hinders learning (at least it does for me). If I try to determine my own routes, I learn my way around a place and get to know it well. If I rely on GPS, I learn little.
