Delusional much? I lived in the south in the 90s. The dream was NOT fulfilled there, I promise.

When I watched the 2009 inauguration, I said “Our long national nightmare is over.” Little did I know, it was just beginning. I see people saying things today, I haven’t heard in 50 years. The country is fractured. The constant race baiting has had it’s desired effect. Very sad. I thought we were over this. I will just say this: Great leaders unite. Poor leaders divide. The greatest opportunity of our time has been squandered, in favor of divisional politics. End of story. Sorry…

Breen brings out words that should be universal around the world, not just here in the U.S. . Yes, Dr. King said them, but many have, before, and since, and been ignored, as division, not unity, is a primary mover of “movements”, be they political, religious, racial, or ethnic.

In the ’60’s I saw more discrimination after the Civil Rights Act passed in Florida, than in Georgia and Mississippi. I got called in to “monitor” the riots after Dr. King was assassinated. I was in Watts during the ‘65 riots, visiting my very white great uncle, and again after that “other King”, who was a total scumbag, caused another riot in Watts. Even HE said, "Can’t we all just get along?"

Yes, the “birther movement” proves we don’t have a problem, except the one caused by minorities who still demand equal rights, and judgement on their character, not skin color, ethnicity, or even “politics”. That little movement IS full of a different “movement” any more, and lost it’s original focus as more radical folks took it over.

Which, interesting that a little attention paid to the Dalai Lama’s repeated message that altruism IS the ultimate positive, might also bring to mind that “golden rule”, that’s been touted, but ignored, through most of human history.
