One summer, when taking care of my daughter’s dogs, I froze some water in Rubbermaid bowls to put in their water bucket. The alpha dog went bobbing for the big chunk of ice, and carried it off and growled if the other dogs tried to take a look at it. So I figured it was useless to try to cool their water that way.
