Reminds me of the scene in “Lawrence of Arabia” after the socalled “Arab armies” occupied Damascus and immediately started to argue over who would do which “menial” task.
“…this region has been battling over the small strip of Land Since Jesus was born in that region.”Why stop there? They were fighting Armageddon in 1500BC. Pick almost any place in Europe or Asia, & you are on the site of ancient grudges. The Israelis & Palestinians will both be better off if they come to terms. I think most realize that, but extremists will keep trying to prevent any peace.
the US could have won in ’nam…the “powers that be” insistedon using WWII and Korean war tactics. The SEALs and otherSPECFOR people were the only effective troops there
