The Patriot Act took away many of our rights, Bush started it and Obama renewed it, pity. when people had to take a drug test at work to prove they were innocent was the 1st right we lost, “innocent until proven guilty”.
I was part of a suit against the Reagan administration that was taking away our rights. It went to the Supreme Court, and we one. The makeup of SCOTUS changed, with a more “conservative” bent, and our victory was then reversed.
It grows very, very, tiresome to watch Obama indeed continue the powers he was granted by CONSERVATIVES in Congress, but even more tiresome to see conservatives blame him for “originating” the situation, ignoring their own role.
It’s past time to remove many sections of the “Patriot Act” and several other pieces of legislation, and Bush era Executive Orders. Obama CAN, and SHOULD do the latter, but it’s up to Congress to do the former, but Boehner will never let it happen in his House, and McConnell will do same in the Senate even though they’re the filibustering “minority”.
