They’ve been taking their inspiration from the USA?I think the USA is the only Western power that is not a secular democracy.

sneered, “Don’t be a jerk I beg your pardon?

“And you gave nothing in return like what he was talking about.”

I replied: “@ jack And is the USA Christian or secular?”I understood Otto’s satire; Jack clearly did not. I replied in kind and wished to know his thoughts about the state of religion in the USA. Yet you claim I did not address his comment? As an aside, I asked Jack if he could use grammar effectively as his comment is not immediately understood. Most of his sentences need to be reread several times to understand the sentences’ components.[@Jack: that’s parsing] That means most people will not read his stuff and simply skip over it.His retort to my advice clearly shows he has no idea how his ideas are not being understood. You don’t want him to communicate his ideas effectively? Why do you dislike him so much? I also think you’re purposely introducing grammar ommisions in your comments in this thread. Is that your attempt to communicate with Jack, mano a mano?

“Grammar police are such SOBs.”Indeed they are, as are foul-mouthed posters : “jerk”; “SOB”.

Facts, dude, I knock your posts in this section for a six when they lack facts; and I don’t normally go for the ad hominem attack, as you just did. What word do you have for posters who reply with gratuitous insults?

"I wanted you to stop with correcting, it is bad manners and etiquette. “

I haven’t corrected before but thanks for the opportunity. An example of Bad manners is using insults, such as you have. If you like, I will point this out to you every time you use it on this forum.

”So you see you went in the reverse direction and really became an obnoxious lout about. [it]“About…? …people who cannot write and express themselves properly in their mother-tongue and sometimes mention how immigrants should learn English? My up-tick in pedantry & churlishness was encouraged by your insults and Jack’s refusal to acknowledge it and to suggest my grammar was awful without indicating what was awful about it.And there you go again: ”obnoxious lout"Did you see that? I often start a sentence with a conjunction! Just terrible. :-|

“Kindly remove it and I will remove mine. Deal?”Are you kidding? My grammar aside was in small font. Your & Jack’s replies enlarged it. It now dominates the thread. Jack’s poor grasp of his mother-tongue is now very much high-lighted and your lack of comprehension, too. Deal with it.

You said: “Words are not foul, they describe foulness.”

I’ll remember this when you next attack a gun-nut who claims guns don’t kill people. Not a disimilar argument.Being called a SOB describes foulness? Indeed. I’ll let my mother know how foul you think she is.

You should have quoted me as follows:“@ jack And is the USA Christian or secular?Dude, seriously, learn how to use some grammar; your sentences need several parses before they’re understood.”

You & jack emphasised it, not me. You both ignored my question: “And is the USA Christian or secular?” and chose to go on about grammar. You went as far as to titter: “And you gave nothing in return like what he was talking about.”

I also suggest you reply to jack’s post with your detailed description about terrorists. I don’t want your post associated with me. I’ve noticed your occasional lapse in comprehension like missing my question above and pointing out the large font Michaelwme has just used in another thread. Dude, when will you recognise his satire? Are you that dense? Oops. That was ad hominim. Oh, no, that’s ok, “words describe foulness”. Whew, got out of that one. Ah yes, say hi to your mom for me.(I hope my manners are improving to your standards)

OK, it’s all become a little stale and turgid, but I will clarify my earlier statement.Yes, I made a satirical comment, but not an inaccurate one.The non-Christian religions look at the USA as being very religious focused, despite your constitutional separation of religion from Government. Actually, even the World’s Christians think that.Ultimately, this was horrendously affirmed when GWB (a firmly self-declared Christian) announced his “Crusade against Terrorism”. Every Moslem on the planet knew that meant a declaration of religious war against them, even those who were USA aligned. That’s what it meant last time.Middle Eastern religious fundamentalism was already happening, but GWB exquisitely radicalised the process in the most effective manner possible.
