Had a Rambler that rusted out and no one realized it til I drove over a puddle of water and the passenger got soaked. Lifted the floor mat and there was a big hole in the floor.

I drove cross-country (Virginia Beach to California) in an old Ford station wagon with a hole in the floor. Worked fine until we hit Amarillo, Texas, and the snow. Yeesh.

Anyone else out there have noticed Ford Tarsus’s? When you see one, rather one made in the 90’s or 2000 plus, look at the left rear quarter panel, usually in front of the left rear wheel and on top. Seems one in fifteen Tarsus’s starts to rust in the area. And they wonder why no one wants to buy American.

I had a car like this back in the 70s. When I moved out of state, the garage gave my dad an inspection sticker to put on the car with the proviso that I NEVER bring it back into the state.
