Both parties bought into this hook, line and sinker. We elected them. If we care to know it has been common knowledge for years. As in Casablanca, “I am shocked to learn that gambling is going on in…… washington”

This program (collecting phone records) has been going on for 7 years in secrecy. The only way it became known was due to someone in the NSA leaking the information. I’d call that person a traitor. The only way Obama could have stopped this program would have been to try and repeal the Patriot Act which authorized it. That ain’t going to happen.

That’s not what I’m getting from this.

What I’m getting from this is that everybody agrees that it was wrong when Bush did it, (some of us said so at the time), and mortally disappointing that Obama hasn’t ‘fixed’ it.

Which certainly does make them both dead wrong, but there are a lot of people here who are finding them objectionable only now that Obama continues the policies.

You may have been one of those, objecting to them when whichever previous president instituted them, I have no way of knowing, but I’m not really hearing that it is ‘OK for Obama because Bush did it’.

Both sides of this government are a criminal outrage. The only difference between the two parties is that the Dems have better manners. And seem to be willing to allow the process of destruction to proceed a little more slowly.

We really must stop letting them set us against one another. If we don’t put our foot down, the division will be the end of us.
