If I were Earl trying the shtick with the dog, it probably wouldn’t work for the dog would go to the sound of kibble being poured into the bowl or have any other dog-related distractions.

I’ve used that excuse with both my cat and the dogs “their too comfortable for me to get up” works like a charm.

You could always get Opal to sit on your lap Earl (O.O.L.)

When Opal does get up she’ll need a brush for CHOL.

All Earl should have to do is run the can opener, especially if it’s electric. If not, open a can of tunafish.

And what happens when you have to go to the bathroom, Opal? Do you just go where you are?

The cat won’t sit on Earl’s lap because she knows Earl hates her. She’s Opal’s cat.

That’s the excuse my husband always uses in the evening when he has one of our cats on his knee, I have to keep getting up to replenish his glass of wine .

We call that being “catlapped” in this house.

In our house, we have D.O.L.

This would not happen in my house. When it’s time to eat nothing stops me. lol

I have a buddy with a cat and every time I want to sit down the cat jumps up on the chair… I sit any way some day I hope he doesn’t move. Cat tacos for dinner.

This is why I do nto have cats anymore. They are manipulative.

C.O.L. can also mean “Cat On Laptop”. Which also means I am excused from all my jobs. Don’t think my boss would buy it, though.

Dogs can be DOL at our place, too.
