A big billboard somewhere near Dewey-Humboldt said: “GUNS SAVE LIVES.” Even if you believe this, putting up a billboard out in the middle of nowhere to say so is kind of hysterical.

Wow. I didn’t realize that. So, does this mean that there are more incidents where lives are saved by civilians with guns than incidents where lives are taken by civilians with guns? Our media must really be working hard to bury that story. I read…above….that there were 23 shootings in Chicago in one week. Were there 24 or more lives saved because of responsible gun owners in Chicago in the same time period?
And if this is truly the case, wouldn’t the criminals believe there would be too much risk to use a gun in a crime?

I’m in Cacophonia, too, right here in Livermore and guess what, no amount of legislation or background checks has done anything around here to curb violence committed with a firearm.…A few months back, a couple of kids decided to shoot at a customer in the parking lot of the local BofA branch on Railroad Avenue, in broad daylight during lunch hour—they are still at large.…And then there was the case of Christopher Boone Lacy and CHP Officer Kenyon Youngstrom back in September of 2012 out there on the I-680 Revenue Corridor between Walnut Creek and I-580, where there was probably no reason whatsoever for Lacy to be carrying firearms, but when Youngstrom and his partner pulled the car over for a questionable stop like “concealed tags”, both Lacy and Youngstrom wound up dead and we are still awaiting the official report about how that came to be.…I was around in 1993, too, and working 4 blocks down the street at Market and Third in San Francisco where on July 1, 1993, Gianluigi Ferri drove his car into the parking lot at Two Embarcadero Center, suited up with his firearms and ammunition and walked the block from Embarcadero Center to 101 California, where he went up to the 34th Floor and started expending his ammunition into the Petit & Martin Law Firm, with the outcry from that shooting leading to the Assault Weapons Ban that the country hated so much that George W. Bush let the law lapse in 2003.…And despite having that Assault Weapons Ban in place nationwide, it didn’t stop Dylan Klebold and Eric Harris from shooting up their high school in my homeland, who did not purchase their firearms legally, but had others purchase them for the pair.…But here in California, there was also that BofA Bank Robbery gone back out there in L.A. in 1997 known as the “North Hollywood Shootout” between the LAPD and Larry Phillips & a Romanian guy whose name escapes me at the moment, who purchased their weapons legally and then modified them illegally.…So regardless of what laws are out there, even here in Cacophonia, there is no way that firearms of all kinds are going to be eliminated, which may also mean that any law against firearms will be disregarded the same way that any law against prostitution out there is disregarded, or any law against drugs, or even tax laws these days.…The prosecution doesn’t start until the offender gets caught and goes through Due Process Of Law—until then, all the offender has to worry about is getting caught.…And just like moonshiners, bootleggers, drug dealers, drug mules, tax evaders and scofflaws of all sorts out there and even prostitutes and their clients out there, the offender has to be lucky all the time to not get caught, while Law Enforcement only has to be lucky once to catch the offender.…And once again, all this Californicated Coloradoan has to look at is how Feinstein’s “Assault Weapons Ban” worked in getting “Assault Weapons” off the street, which it didn’t.
Because it’s easy to get a gun in another state? California doesn’t have border guards checking every vehicle for illegal guns, does it? As long as Americans continue to think that it’s good to have guns for self-defense, fatal shootings will continue because mankind is violent by nature and Americans are among the most naturally violent human beings on the planet.
