Even the Dims who rammed this through dont want the disaster to happen before the mid-term elections because they know the fit will hit the shan when Barry-Care fully kicks in.

The government already has a difficult time with the Veteran’s Administration Health Care system (see backlog). How the heck can the government keep up with health care for everyone if it can’t keep up with those who have fought, served, and earned it?

Cons should get off the ACA kick. Obamacare — or, what i call “Romneycare for America” — is an imperfect plan. Mostly because Republican Senators had filibuster power. But it’s a whole lot better than what we had before Obamacare — which I call “Take Your Chances, Mac.” At its best Obamacare takes Medicare Advantage customers off welfare. Makes them pay for what they get.

Congress has already sequestered themselves as they only work 3 days a week, the only probllem is they don’t lose any pay. (I know that some work in their districts on their days off, but not to the extent that we need.)

Healthcare for profit is both obscene and immoral. We as a country need to move beyond Obamacare, rid ourselves of the freeloading healthcare insurance industry, bring big pharma under price control and streamline the system.

(I was asked to make some changes to this post and delete the original comments.)^And now the people in the cartoon have to take an extra day of work off per week starting next month. That will not only slow down needed work, but it will cut the amount of money people might have put into the economy. My wife and I have already started making cuts because she’s being furloughed. Basically a 20% cut in pay. My neighbor works for a company that repairs and maintains minesweepers and expects to see ships kept in port and work delayed. How many mines does it take to sink a warship in the Straits of Hormuz?Deficits and debt must be addressed, but intelligently and targeted. This partisan and cannibalistic legislature is going to hurt your neighbors, and, it might even hurt YOU my fellow American commentators.Regretfully,C.

@ ScottPM – the office I mentioned in my original post is essentially a group of efficiency experts that work to assess and remove wasteful practices by the gov’t and contractors. My comment was not meant to suggest I thought the furlough was necessary and I don’t approve of the sequester.^I DO understand why the sequester was suggested and Mikefive has nailed it on the head. Neither party wants to be identified as “responsible” for cutting programs, and the GOP is so unwilling to agree to anything Mr. Obama supports they are against it even if it was THEIR MEMBERS who first suggested the ideas. The two parties have allowed this sequester to occur out of cowardice and, quite frankly, laziness.^@ Mikefive – thank you for the excellent reply. referenced it in my reply to ScottPM.^@ Adrian Snare – The following article is from 2006, but the benefits listed have not been repealed according to my searches. Furloughing themselves with loss of pay included should also be done. The two party system of cannibalistic legislating considers itself more American and important than actual citizens who work to pay the taxes that keep them in health care LONG after they leave office.^http://usatoday30.usatoday.com/news/washington/2006-04-19-congressbenefits_x.htm^Please write to your legislators…national and state. Write to the leaders of the House and Senate of both parties. Tell them politely, respectfully, and FIRMLY that they are hurting our nation and they need to do their jobs.Respectfully,C.
