Ones small enough to just take out a building tend to burn-up upon entry, Red. Ones big enough to “get through” are more than you REALLY want.

GoldenRoya: I never could get where this Rapture comes from. Jesus says no one knows when, yet “televangelists” say they know. Amos says you won’t want it – like running from a lion and encountering a bear, or resting against a wall and getting snake-bit.

We planned on blowing up the bridge the bus had to cross to pick us up for school. Since we never had bigger explosives than an odd firecracker or two (and those only on the 4th of July) the plan withered away.

Red, forget the deus-ex-machina and just fake the flu symptoms like I did!

Macushlalondra: Always the best advice. Poor Amos got badly translated into English because everything is imitating the KJV (which had no older texts to work with than 400 years earlier) and who never saw a wall of water except the little one foot tidal bore in the Severn. What he really said was “Let justice sweep down like a flash flood [cleaning out the wadi] and righteousness flow like a perennial stream [in the desert].”
