I agree that Chris Matthews interrupts too much but he plays good clips of such shows as the Daily Show and Colbert. I usually agree with his comments.

LOL….Lester got this cartoon totally correct and to the point; the GOP Dinosaurs (“rhinos” as narrowminded posted) not only gave us Mitt, they gave us McCain and before that Doleand they try to drive out the new conservatives from Reagan’s GOP “Big Tent”! - They seem to think that the party nominee each 4 years should be the Republican with the most seniority! Meaning the top “Yes-man” to the party line! Any breath of fresh air like Palin must be treated with scorn and disdain, like the GOP RINOs did when Reagan began trying to run for prez!

solyndra fail because it was designed to get gov $ and pass to “investors” “subsidies” to oil co are (1) the foreign tax credit; (2) the tax deduction for income attributable to oil, natural gas, or primary products thereof; (3) the tax deduction for intangible drilling and development costs; (4) the percentage depletion allowance for oil and gas wells; (5) the tax deduction for qualified tertiary injectant expenses.

1] all companies and individuals are allowed this why not oil co? 2] not allow tax ded for taxes states put on oil production why not? 3] all other co can why not oil? 4] this goes to land owner like the farmers in tx and okla why not — oh they voted mitt

One TV show that disappoints lately is Washington Week on PBS.I watched that show almost every week since the late ’70s and it has lost my interest. They go to such great lengths not to offend either side, they end up saying nothing.

David posted=“The rightwing got ahead because of the liberal tolerance of opposing ideas and no matter how inane the idea we treated the person with respect. that’s changing though.”-David, that outrageous claim is so far from reality…I am age 80, began watching TV news in 1954…the Liberals had total control..PBS was 99% Liberal, the only Conservative that got any time at all was Wm.F.Buckley and he had to agree to share the hour at least 50% with certified Liberals!-It took the Conservatives who were FROZEN OUT OF MEDIA, many years and much investment money to begin to produce TV and Radio “alternatives” for news and commentary!-I can testify from personal observance that the Liberals in power were NOT “tolerant” and did NOT treat conservatives “with respect”….In academia, that is still the Liberal MO. Liberals always try to GAG alternate ideas. They are doing it today…organizations and publications of science treat conservative educated scholars and scientists like they would treat little green men aliens!-David’s BLUFF does not work on experienced readers and watchers of media.

“Non decent Americans also will excuse their guy of any wrong doing. "What? This from the guy who said, “They’ve already edited a video of Romney to make him appear out of touch.”There are some conservative posters here who are willing to entertain the notion that one of their own isn’t perfect. You aren’t one of them.

I’ve noticed some of the other left-leaning posters over the last few days, agreeing with Rand Paul on this particular topic. There has been praise for Rand Paul from all over the liberal blogosphere. Not a single conservative poster seems to have acknowledged this. Hopefully this is the start of a long overdue national conversation about the limits of Presidential authority. Rand Paul is trying to elevate his credentials for 2016, as well as differentiate himself from the war mongering faction of the GOP. Contrary to Lester’s depiction of McCain & Graham as ‘RINOs’, they have represented the mainstream of conservative thought for decades.

You people, always with the Solyndra, Solyndra, Solyndra, Solyndra, Solyndra . . . The DOE’s Loan Guarantee Program, “when judged by its entire diverse portfolio of investments, has performed remarkably well. Indeed, with a capitalization of just $4 billion, DOE has committed or closed $37.8 billion in loan guarantees for 36 innovative clean energy projects. The Solyndra case represents less than 2% of total loan commitments made by DOE, and will be easily covered by a capitalization of eight to ten times larger than any ultimate losses expected following the bankruptcy proceedings.”And: “While Solyndra is shutting its doors, companies like SunPower, First Solar, and Brightsource Energy, which also received loan guarantees, are industry leading success stories.”And: “In 2010 the China Development Bank provided more than $30 billion in loans to Chinese solar manufacturers. China’s large clean energy investments have helped reduce the price of their solar cells by 42%, which was one factor in Solyndra’s inability to compete.”Parrot-people need to turn off the Noise and start rooting for the future of this country.
