While on a visit in Germany a woman showed me a 3,000,000.00 Reich Mark note from the 30s that her grandfather had saved. She told me that at the time of it’s issue it would buy a postage stamp.

Those who fail to learn from the mistakes of the past, will be doomed to repeat those mistakes. The school system has done a very bad job of teaching the history of the past US mistakes, mostly because admitting your mistakes is UNAmerican. It is not the Teachers, it is the system. Two generations of believing that you are omnipotent and better than all others, seems to lead US down this path repeatedly. So here we are again, those that brought this on us, including us, are going to pay, and pay dearly, because too many of us had to abdicate that which is needed, to educate our young about real responsibility. It is necessary to have the time and wherewithall to be with your family and not to have to work three jobs to still be treading water. If we do not force the hands of our ELECTED representatives to MAKE THOSE PAY who are responsible for this mess, and not reward them for failure, we will elect more of the same, and THEY will laugh all of the way to the Federal Reserve again. If it had been successful to privatize Social Security, how many of you would be getting ready to take your Grand parents, and many parents, into your homes to live, in about the next year?

I think the main problem with twenty-first economy right now is that money is too abstract.

Firstm there was trade; your two bags of rice for your cow. Then, there was gold. After that came paer money. It became easier to play with it. Now, it’s electric money. We think it has value, but it’s thin air, just the idea of value. Anyone can do anything with just an idea or data on a computer.
