My aunt cooked like this at one time. My uncle called them her “delectible delights” (said with heavy sarcastic tone and eye roll) and it’s been a standard term for rehashed leftovers ever since.
That depends, though, on whether they’re doing Argentine Tango, International Standard Tango, or American Smooth Tango. In the latter two styles, the arm leads never change, but in the former, they can (but the lead/follow never changes, unless it’s old-school male/male Argentine Tango, the way the dance was originally done before it was introduced to the bordellos of Buenos Aires in about 1920). That said, I also noticed the correct use of heel leads in Promenade position. While they might not win Dancing with the Stars, Calvin’s parents would certainly win points for that bit of technical correctness.
I actually agree with you. Unfortunately sarcasm doesn’t always translate in written form, but I am saying this is not a political comic, and given the comments of the past several days, I had hoped to just get that all out of the way from the beginning so that we can all move on and just enjoy the comic.
As child I hated rolled oats, but now I look forward to my dish of porridge .first too much brown sugar ,then too much condensed milk, then too much butter, did I mention the rolled oats?
I’ve seen this strip before, Infact I have a copy of the first frame on file ( I collect his really great expressions ) Are they going to start going back to the older strips like Lil Abner does? I think he probably does anyway but this is the first one I’ve noticed.

Calvin is always eating some pile of green mess. He looks terrible in the first panel. Ugh. Poor thing. His imagination is going to kill him some day.
